Chai Chat: Can Zoom Save the American Family?

Chai Chat is an interactive gathering where we explore current social concerns and other issues that affect our spiritual and communal cultivation.

We invite you to read ahead of time, join us with your favourite tea or coffee, and engage in critical and constructive conversation.

-

On Monday January 25th we will gather to discuss the article “Can Zoom Save the American Family?” by Katherine Boyle. For those of you who joined us back in May, you can think of it as an extension of our discussion on David Brooks’ “The Nuclear Family was a Mistake.”

Join us to discuss:

  • how work-from-home arrangements for people in certain careers could potentially alter our ideas about work-life balance

  • how virtual technology opens up new avenues and new challenges for raising children in a two-income household

  • who certainly does not benefit from work-from-home allowances and what our community can do to advocate for a more family-oriented society as opposed to career-centered society

  • any other insights that you bring to the table

We look forward to seeing you then.
